Finance Assistant at Glean | Remotely


As Glean continues to grow, the demands on the Finance team are ever-increasing. There is the requirement to respond quickly and precisely to enquiries from a range of internal and external stakeholders, whilst managing day-to-day tasks and ensuring monthly, quarterly and annual deliverables are met.

 

The Finance Assistant will provide critical operational support to the Finance team and the entire business, ensuring accurate and timely handling of all transactions, and driving efficiency and process improvements across the function.

 

  • Primary ownership of purchase ledger, responsible for invoice entry, obtaining appropriate approvals, payments and supplier queries
  • Prepare bank payments for approval, and reconcile all company bank accounts on a timely basis
  • Primary ownership of payroll processing, working with EX team and outsourced payroll providers to maintain payroll data and ensure accuracy of payments
  • Preparation of quarterly VAT Returns and US Sales Tax submissions
  • Monitor and maintain the Fixed Asset Register
  • Support for sales ledger and credit control
  • Process staff expense claims
  • Ownership of balance sheet reconciliations for key accounts
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis on over/under spend against budget
  • Respond to queries from wider business
  • Support the COO, CFO, Head of Finance and Finance Business Partner with ad-hoc queries and requests as required

 

Essential 

  • Prior experience with purchase ledger and payroll essential
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels internally and externally – build and maintain effective working relationships and be the “go-to” finance representative on areas owned (e.g. purchase invoices, payroll)
  • A self-starter, able to work autonomously, identify workloads and prioritise accordingly – especially when working remotely
  • Ability to identify and implement improvements to processes, to maximise automation and efficiency
  • Willingness to adapt and respond to the changing and varied needs of the business
  • A team player, willing to support the rest of the small Finance team

Desirable

  • Experience with Xero highly preferable
  • Experience with Pleo and Cledara for spend management, or Pento for payroll processing is an advantage
  • Understanding of, or experience working in, a SaaS business

 

Salary

£25,000 – £28,000 dependent on experience
